Ten Hag to hold Rashford talks

Erik ten Hag warned Marcus Rashford to prepare for talks over his dismal form.

That’s after the Manchester United striker’s body language was slammed in a dreadful display against Newcastle.

Rashford barely touched the ball – and failed to have a singe shot – as United crashed to a 1-0 defeat at St James’ Park on Saturday.

The England star came under fire the most, with his display leaving pundits and fans annoyed.

Many pointed out his repeated failure to track back, with Gordon and Tino Livramento causing United constant trouble down Newcastle's left flank.

And Ten Hag vowed to have talks behind the scenes over the striker’s form, telling TNT Sports: “I will talk to him and not the media.

“I know this issue’s coming up and Marcus is investing a lot. We support him and he will return to his form.

“I repeat myself: he works hard and he’s investing a lot, he will get back, he will recover and he gets all our support.

“I don’t go into individual performances.”

De Gea posts cryptic tweet after Newcastle defeat

David de Gea took to X to post a cryptic message following Manchester United's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

The goalkeeper left Old Trafford as a free agent in July after failing to agree new contract terms with United.

But although he is yet to make a comeback, De Gea has been keeping a close eye on his former club since the start of the season.

And following United's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, he appeared to give a brutal assessment with a cryptic tweet.

The Spaniard posted a cold face emoji (🥶) on X shortly after full-time.

    Scholes slams 'lazy' Red Devils

Paul Scholes has claimed there are too many “lazy” players at “rubbish” Manchester United after watching them lose at Newcastle.

“Rubbish. They’re a poor football team at this minute,” Scholes told Premier League Productions.

“Those results they’ve had recently are misleading.

“Too many lazy players on the football team – you can’t get away with that.

“Going to these places, the first thing you do is work hard. You can see the joy that Newcastle are getting down both sides and feel sorry for the full backs.”

    Shearer slams Man Utd stars

Shearer then got personal and said: “For me, there are too many bad eggs in that Man United team. Too many bad attitudes.

“It's alright when things are going well for you, you can get your feet on the ball, play and pick your head up when things are nice and rosy.

“When it's not going for you, when you're a bit tired and you've got to roll your sleeves up, there's not enough characters in that team.”

    Shearer slams Man Utd stars

Alan Shearer says Erik ten Hag has “too many bad eggs” in his team as he slammed Man Utd’s flops after their defeat at Newcastle.

The Red Devils suffered a sixth Premier League loss of the campaign as Anthony Gordon secured the Magpies a 1-0 win last night.

Assessing the game on Match of the Day, he said: “They [Newcastle] absolutely battered Man United in wide areas.

“[Kieran] Trippier and [Tino] Livramento were sensational against [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka and [Diogo] Dalot.

“In their defence, they got no help whatsoever from [Alejandro] Garnacho and [Marcus] Rashford. Rashford didn't look at it at all – didn't look interested.

“It happened so many times. Newcastle created so many chances and they should have had many goals.”
