Man Utd transfer boost as Christian Eriksen 'rejects Brentford contract renewal and looks for new Premier League move' | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly received a transfer boost after Christian Eriksen allegedly rejected a contract extension at Brentford.

The 30-year-old Danish star made his incredible return to competitive football in January just six months after suffering a cardiac arrest for Denmark at the Euros.

He moved to newly-promoted Brentford on a six-month deal and showed he had lost none of his magic as he helped the Bees secure their top-flight status.

Eriksen produced one goal and four assists in his ten starts.

And that has led to a host of clubs wanting to sign him this summer.

Now, Italian transfer guru Alfredo Pedulla has stated that Brentford have suffered a blow as the attacker is set to snub the opportunity to stay.

That is due to the ex-Inter Milan ace wanting to play again in the Champions League although he is said to be keen to remain in the Premier League.

United are looking to bring in Eriksen on a free this summer.

New boss Erik ten Hag is embarking on an overhaul of the squad.

But the Red Devils only have Europa League football to look forward to next term, which could impact Eriksen’s decision.

That could make Eriksen’s former club Tottenham the favourites to sign him.

Manager Antonio Conte worked with him previously at Inter and is believed to be keen on reuniting with him.

And with Champions League football on offer plus the chance to not uproot his family from London, Eriksen may opt for a romantic return to Spurs rather than join United.
