MANCHESTER UNITED target Frenkie de Jong has been named in Barcelona's travelling squad for their tour of the US.
The Red Devils are determined to sign the midfielder, and thought they had struck a £71million deal earlier this week.
The move has hit a snag, however, regarding money owed to De Jong by Barcelona, and doubts over whether he actually wants to move to Old Trafford.
Man United chiefs remain convinced that they can pull off a deal for the 25-year-old.
But he is now set to spend the next fortnight in the United States with Barcelona.
The Catalan giants confirmed their travelling squad for the US trip this morning, with De Jong named in it.

Players surplus to requirements, such as Samuel Umtiti, have been left behind.
De Jong will take part in matches against Inter Miami, Real Madrid, Juventus and New York Red Bulls.
Barca president Joan Laporta said earlier this week: "There are clubs that want him, not just United.
"We have no intention of selling him, he wants to stay.

"Frenkie is considered as one of the best midfielders in the world by all the experts. We are happy to have him.
"I’m going to do everything I can in my power so that Frenkie stays here, but there’s also a salary issue and that would have to be adjusted."
De Jong took time to unwind this week by taking a boat trip with Memphis Depay.
The pair posed for a photo together before being filmed diving into the sea near Barcelona – with Depay pulling off an acrobatic backflip.
De Jong also went paddleboarding with his fiancee Mikky Kiemeney, having proposed to the 24-year-old earlier this month.
