CRISTIANO RONALDO will reportedly not receive any punishment for missing Manchester United’s pre-season tour.
New boss Erik ten Hag and his squad flew out to Thailand on Friday before then heading to Australia.
Ronaldo rocked the Red Devils last week as he asked them to let him leave the club amid his frustrations over transfers and a lack of Champions League football.
The 37-year-old, who is wanted in a £14m move by Chelsea, then did not return as expected for training on Monday.
He was given an extended leave of absence due to a family issue.
United have confirmed that the Portuguese legend was not on the plane yesterday for the Far East trip, which begins with a clash against Liverpool in Bangkok next week.

It remains to be seen whether je joins up with them out there at a later date.
However, the Daily Star claims that United bosses “will not punish Ronaldo for missing the club's summer tour”.
They state the club “have the option of fining” him “because he is in effect breaking club rules by not fulfilling his contractual obligations” by not going on the trip.
And to rub further salt in the wound, “Ronaldo's absence from the money-spinning trip will affect ticket and shirt sales, along with attendances, because he has been used as the poster boy” for the tour.

However, “due to the sensitive reasons for him remaining in Lisbon” it has been decided by United CEO Richard Arnold not to sanction the superstar.
The report adds that Arnold is “relaxed about the fact Ronaldo might miss the entire tour”.
And he is more concerned with resolving his immediate future with the veteran still having a year remaining on his Old Trafford contract.
