MR Olympia star Neil Currey has died at the age of 34, his former mentor said.
Fellow bodybuilding star Milos Sarcev, from Serbia, shared the tragic news in an Instagram tribute on Monday.
Sarcev described Currey’s death as “heartbreaking” as he paid tribute online.
He said: “My last/best memory of him was this smiling face after he won New York Pro and fulfilled his lifetime dream of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia.
"I am lost for words and filled with pain and sadness.”
No official cause of death has yet been released.
Currey, who was born in the UK, qualified for the 2022 edition of Mr. Olympia and finished 16th in the Classic Physique category.
The bodybuilding ace has previously competed in the New York Pro and Puerto Rico Pro events.
He has also starred in bodybuilding competitions across Europe, Kuwait and Japan.
Currey's death came just six years after he made his bodybuilding debut.
