Nottingham Forest announce summer release list including ex-Arsenal ace Carl Jenkinson… and working on Spence transfer | The Sun

PREMIER LEAGUE new boys Nottingham Forest have announced their list of released players.

Forest have released a trio of first team players after Tobias Figueiredo, Gaetan Bong, and Carl Jenkinson's contracts were allowed to run down.

However, manager Steve Cooper is hopeful club captain Lewis Grabban will agree a new deal after missing the end of last season through injury – with the club saying they're "in discussions" with him.

Forest's five loan players, Keinan Davis, Philip Zinckernagel, Max Lowe, Djed Spence, and James Garner have now returned to their parent clubs after reaching the end of their loan deals on Trentside.

But Cooper and his transfer staff are currently working on deals tokeep the bulk of his promotion winning team, with CEO Dane Murphy vowing to keep "the band of brothers together."

Two-time European Cup winners Forest won promotion back to the Premier League after a 1-0 win against Huddersfield in the play-off final which will end a 23-year hiatus from England's top division.

Wing-back Spence would be one of the highest profile members of the loan quintet if they were able to sign him on a permanent deal from Middlesbrough.

Interest from major clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham is likely to make this move difficult though.

Garner is likely to be another one who could prove difficult to sign permanently, with parent club Manchester United set to evaluate Garner in pre-season as Erik ten Hag concocts his new-look squad.

Of their released players. Portuguese defender Figueiredo made 122 appearances in four and a half seasons for Forest.
