Nottingham Forest watching Norwich defender Andrew Omobamidele as Steve Cooper lines up another transfer binge | The Sun

NOTTINGHAM FOREST sent scouts to monitor Norwich’s young centre-half Andrew Omobamidele.

Forest will be looking for more defenders if they stay in the top flight and boss Steve Cooper likes the Republic of Ireland prospect.

The 20-year-old already has 40 senior appearances under his belt with Norwich as well as two goals.

He has also earned five caps for the Republic of Ireland.

The Canaries could cash in on Omobamidele, who would leap at the chance of being tested at the Premier League level.

The Reds’ experienced centre-half Steve Cook, 31, may be heading out of the door and they will need new faces at the back.

Former Canaries manager Dean Smith was a big fan of the player during his time at the club.

When in charge, he said of Omobamidele: “He is an accomplished player.

"He is going to be a really big player for us and that is one of the really big positives that he has come through this game.”
