Opta’s AI supercomputer predicts the results of the Premier League’s pivotal round of midweek fixtures – including Manchester City and Arsenal’s ‘final’ AND how it will impact the title race

Opta’s AI supercomputer has made its predictions for the upcoming midweek Premier League fixtures and it’s safe to say there are a few surprises in there.
Over the next three days, all 20 of England’s top-flight teams will be in action, with plenty still to play for at both ends of the table.
The most intriguing fixture of this week is, without a doubt, the top-of-the-table clash between Manchester City and Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The Gunners currently hold a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table but, with Pep Guardiola’s side having two games-in-hand, it’s still all to play for.
As well as that fixture, the supercomputer has taken it’s picks for Tottenham’s clash with United, Chelsea’s game with Brentford… and much more!

The supercomputer has claimed that Spurs will bounce back from their 6-1 loss to Newcastle
According to Opta’s stats, Manchester City have a 62.6 per cent chance of beating the Gunners, who have been given a 15.1 per cent chance of success at the Etihad.

The supercomputer then went into further detail to explain the probability of this year’s Premier League winner, based off of the result on Wednesday night.
It suggests that if City beat Arsenal, they will have a 91 per cent chance of retaining the Premier League title.
Mikel Arteta’s side, meanwhile, have been given a 56 per cent chance of winning the league, if they manage to beat City on Wednesday night.
The supercomputer also claimed the league title would be City’s to lose if the match ended in a draw, with the hosts given a 72 per cent chance of claiming the trophy in that scenario.
Looking at some of the other midweek fixtures, the supercomputer was not afraid to make some bold decisions ahead of the games.
It’s made the brave claim that Tottenham will emerge victorious from their encounter with Man United on Thursday, despite their dismal run of late.
The north London side were beaten 6-1 by Newcastle and had interim coach Christian Stellini sacked in the past two days, as turmoil ensues at the club.
Despite this, Spurs have been given a 43.4 per cent chance of winning against the Red Devils. A United victory has a likelihood of 28.8 per cent, while a draw is the remaining 27.8 per cent.
The supercomputer has also boldly predicted that Frank Lampard will claim his first victory since being appointed as Chelsea’s interim manager.
The Blues have suffered four defeats in a row since Lampard’s return but have been given a 47.5 per cent chance of success for their clash with Brentford.

Given their six-match winless run, Thomas Frank’s side have a 24.4 per cent chance of success at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
WHAT IS THE OPTA AI SUPERCOMPUTER?
To achieve a well-rounded picture of who will win the 2022-23 Premier League title, Opta’s prediction model estimates the probability of each match outcome – win, draw or loss – by using betting market odds and Stats Perform’s team rankings.
The odds and rankings are based on recent team performances. The model then considers opponent strength, current injuries and head-to-head results to make it’s prediction on the match outcome probabilities.

In Tuesday’s matches, Wolves have been predicted to edge out their encounter with Crystal Palace. The hosts have a 37 per cent chance of winning compared to the Eagels’ 31.9 per cent.
Aston Villa’s 43 per cent prediction sees them strong favourites against Fulham, while Leicester have been suggested to beat relegation rivals Leeds.
The two clubs are separated by just a point at the bottom of the table but the Foxes have been given a 44 per cent chance of winning, compared to Leeds’ 29 per cent.
For the following night, the supercomputer has given Brighton a 47.2 per cent chance of winning in their visit to Nottingham Forest.
Steve Cooper’s side, who have not won a match since the start of February, have a 24.5 per cent chance of winning on Wednesday, according to Opta.
In Liverpool’s visit to West Ham, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been given a 51 per cent chance of victory. The Hammers, on the other hand, have a 22.6 per cent chance of winning.
For Thursday’s fixtures, bottom of the league Southampton have been predicted as favourites for their clash with Bournemouth at St Mary’s.
The Saints have a 41 per cent chance of winning, according the supercomputer, compared to the Cherries’ 29.6 per cent rating.
In the final fixture, high-flying Newcastle have been given a 38.1 per cent of winning in their trip to Everton, off the back of their 6-1 victory over Spurs.
The Toffees, on the other hand, have a 32.4 chance of beating Eddie Howe’s side, with a draw predicted at 29.5 per cent.
