The wondergoal proved crucial as Sporting survived an onslaught from the Gunners in extra time before winning on penalties to reach the quarter-finals and dump Arsenal out of the competition.
Goncalves joined Sporting in the summer of 2020 after a season at top-flight side Famalicao.
The 24-year-old had a two-year stint at Wolves from 2017 to 2019, joining Nuno Espirito Santo’s side when they were in the Championship.
