Darts heavyweight Peter Wright was sent crashing out at the start of the first ProTour event of the season in a shock defeat to Steve Beaton.
Beaton was in phenomenal form as he swept past Wright with an impressive 6-2 victory whilst averaging 103 in the very first round. The Bronzed Adonis started the clash full of vigour and was up 3-0 early on against Wright.
As the match progressed fans expressed their delight at seeing the former World No1 Beaton back at his best. One fan exclaimed: "WOW. The Bronze Adonis, rolling back the years." Then a second enthused: "Woweeeee what a legend man." And a third user declared: "The Bronzed Adonis…. Timeless class beating the best in the world still….Great win."

Beaton's surprise victory is another landmark moment in his illustrious career that has seen him receive a kiss from TV pundit Laura Woods.
Speaking on their rendevouz, Woods said: "When I finished the interview, I went ‘thank you so much’ and I went to shake his hand, he went for a cuddle. Because he’d gone for a cuddle, I like put my arms around him and almost went for a kiss on the cheek.

"He then realised I was for the kiss so he turned and we kissed on the lips. I was like ‘oh my God, what have I done?’" But Wright wasn't the only big name who was sent packing at the first hurdle at the ProTour tournament.
He was joined at the exit by rival Michael van Gerwen who lost 6-5 to fellow Dutchman Geert Nentjes. Last month Van Gerwen and Wright battled it out for the Nordic Masters quarter-final which Snakebite eventually won.
And after his thrilling 10-9 win, a fan decided to throw drink over the Scotsman. But the unfortunate event wasn't able to stop Wright from winning the tournament with a win over Gerwyn Price.
