England fans can breathe a sigh of relief after Harry Kane’s newborn son Henry was reportedly born back home – and therefore isn’t eligible to play for Germany when he grows up.
The Three Lions skipper, who recently signed for German champions Bayern Munich in a £100million deal, welcomed Henry Edward Kane into the world with wife Kate on Sunday.
There had been speculation Kate would give birth in Munich, therefore making Henry eligible for German citizenship and able to play football for England’s old rivals had the Kane genes proved strong enough for him to follow in his father’s footsteps.
However, German newspaper Bild report that Henry was indeed born in England.
Fans who studied Kane’s two Instagram pictures had already reached that conclusion. A British plug socket was visible in the background of one of the snaps and another showed a note with the English words ‘Baby boy, room 101.’

Kate also posted a series of Instagram snaps on Sunday from her baby shower at the Corinthia Hotel in London.
Henry is the Kanes’ fourth child together after daughters Ivy, 6, and Vivienne, 5, and son Louis, 2.
Kane captioned the Instagram photos: ‘Welcome to the world Henry Edward Kane. 20/8/2023. Love you baby boy!’
The England striker, then a Tottenham player, revealed they were expecting another child in an Instagram post back in March.
He shared a polaroid snap of Kate holding a positive pregnancy test, along with an image of the baby’s ultrasound.
He captioned the post: ‘Over the moon to be expecting baby No.4! Coming soon…’
The couple also shared a video from their baby’s ultrasound, where they asked their three children whether they believe it’s a boy or a girl.
Their eldest daughter Ivy guessed a girl, their second child Vivienne said a boy, while their son Louis, guessed a car.

Kane, 30, scored on his Bundesliga debut for Bayern as they thrashed Werder Bremen 4-0 on Friday night.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Kane opened up on his dream debut: ‘It was fantastic. There’s been a lot of talk and build-up to this game. It started well with the goal early on. It was tough.
‘We created some good chances but lacked the final product.
‘We stayed calm, managed to get the second goal and the boys finished it off the bench. It was the perfect start, I’m looking forward to the next game.’
Their next league fixture is at home to Augsburg on Sunday.
