Royal Ascot guests impress in jaw-dropping floral dresses and huge hats as drinks flow on Day Five of racing | The Sun

IT’S the fifth day of racing at Royal Ascot and the jaw-dropping dresses and hats that immediately grab everyone's attention are back in full swing.

A-listers and Ascot attendees have now arrived at the Berkshire racecourse in high spirits for a fun Saturday full of horses and flowing champagne.

As in previous years, Ascot attendees have had to adhere to the strict dress-code issued by the venue.

This includes the fact that all dresses should be a “modest length” and straps are required to be “one inch or greater”.

But guests have still been impressing in the style stakes, with many dressed to the nines for the fun day out.

And it appears that floral dresses are the style of the day, with many frocks covered in pretty prints.

The stylish mum-of-three looked effortlessly elegant as she led the Royal procession with the Prince of Wales in Berkshire on Friday afternoon.

This was the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales had attended Royal Ascot this year, despite King Charles and Queen Camilla being in attendance every day.

What’s more, the Royal Meeting will also serve more than a quarter of a million finger sandwiches, 240,000 hand-crafted cakes and 120,000 buttermilk scones.

Not only this, but there will also be 110,000 cups of tea, 7,000 punnets of mixed berries and 1,200kg of Cornish clotted cream for the occasion too.

Royal Ascot was held behind closed doors in 2020, and in 2021 limited racegoers were admitted after it was selected to take part in a Covid event research programme.
