FORMER rugby league star Issac Luke has been left heartbroken after his dad was killed in Cyclone Gabrielle in New Zealand.
George Luke died following a landslide on the North Island, according to the New Zealand Herald.
George and partner Mau Goodman were driving by car from Rotorua to Hastings on Monday night.
A search party was launched when the family did not hear from them.
They were found on Thursday and taken to hospital by helicopter, where George later died.
George's partner, Mau, is "all scratched up" but recovering in hospital, a family member told the Herald.

Cyclone Gabrielle has caused flooding and landslides across the North Island, with a state of emergency declared in New Zealand on Tuesday.
Ex-rugby league ace Luke, 35, who played 43 times for New Zealand before retiring in 2021, said he has been left "broken" by his father's death.
Luke wrote on Facebook: "Broken.
"My first HERO. See you soon dad. I love you."

Local New Zealand rugby league club, the Hawera Hawks, also paid tribute to George.
The Hawks wrote on Facebook: "With a heavy heart our deepest condolences to our Luke Whanau with the passing of our Totara Tree George Luke.
"No words can express our heartbreak at this sad time, you touched the hearts of us all and always encouraged us to keep doing our best.
"You were always their to guide us, a father, brother, Koro uncle, mentor and a friend. We are going to miss you dearly.
"To George’s beautiful children Kia kaha our thoughts and love are with you all.
"Fly high with your beautiful wings, and wrap them around your children to keep them safe and inbrace them with your love."
