Shocking moment PSG fan punches member of public as they march through city before Champions League clash | The Sun

A PSG fan attacked a member of the public before their Champions League clash with Newcastle.

PSG ultras filled the city centre and marched towards St James' Park.


Members of the public watched them stream by and one unfortunately fell victim to an assault.

A PSG fan walked up to a person filming the ultras and punched them in the head without warning.

There were also reports of clashes outside the ground with missiles thrown including bottles and cones.

PSG fans tussled with police who had formed a barrier between the visitors and the home fans.

The travelling French contingent packed out the away end way ahead of kick-off but left the North East feeling disappointed following Newcastle's 4-1 win.

Miguel Almiron opened the scoring before local lads Dan Burn and Sean Longstaff put the Toon in dreamland.

Lucas Hernandez pulled one back for the French champions but Fabian Schar rounded off the famous win with a rocket from distance.

After the match a delighted Eddie Howe said: "Amazing evening for us, so many stories to talk about within the game.
