As unique birthday gifts go, a cake of a darts player is right up there. That is exactly what one fan of the sport received – a baked version of Australian World Cup winner Simon Whitlock no less.
“Yes… yes I did just get a Whitlock cake for my birthday tomorrow…,” tweeted Jack Sheppard with a picture of the impressive creation.
The cake went down a storm on social media with many fellow darts fans now craving player puddings of their own to mark their next birthday.

“That’s goals. If I don’t get one for my next birthday I’ll be very disappointed,” tweeted one while another added: “This is sensational lol.”
“Absolutely legendary,” said a third. Another tweeter called Dart-Horse posted: “Just had a long conversation with Mrs Horse about this cake, it's really caught her interest. She's asked me who my favourite player is and she's going to make a head cake for my Birthday next year. Neigh.”
One tweeter was initially confused by the picture, writing: “Lovely, I thought the hair was worms at first lol.” Another tweeted: “Wow that's a cracker of a masterpiece.”
One social media user even took the time to impose a picture of the cake on top of an image of Whitlock on the oche.

Whitlock, who won the World Cup of Darts alongside Damon Heta in June, is currently back in his homeland for the trio of World Series events which are taking place Down Under.
The Wizard reached the quarter-finals of the Queensland Masters last weekend after beating seed James Wade in the first round. Next up is the New South Wales Masters in Wollongong, where Whitlock is one of the local qualifiers.
The World Series then heads across the Tasman Sea for the New Zealand Masters in Hamilton.
