The Open 2023: Moment man is led away from Hoylake golf course in handcuffs in dramatic scenes | The Sun

SHOCKING pictures show the moment a man in handcuffs is led away from Hoylake golf course by cops.

Police can be seen escorting the blue-shirted man away from The Open 2023 Golf championship.

He is said to have been arrested during the first round of the prestigious competition.

The competition is the final golf major of the year with stars such as Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler in the thick of the action.

The man was seen wearing a black bag and a jumper tied round his waist at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake.

And he was pictured putting his hands up to the camera as stone-faced cops frogmarched him out.

One police officer with a dog was pictured nearby as the man was led away.

At this moment it is unconfirmed as to why the man was arrested with police being contacted for comment.

The four-day event sees the world's top stars tee off with thousands of golf fans gathered to enjoy the show.

Defending champ Cam Smith is currently bidding to outdo World No.1 Scottie Scheffler on day one.
