Tottenham 'readying £50m transfer swoop for Jadon Sancho' and 'believe Man Utd will be open to £50m bid' | The Sun

TOTTENHAM are reportedly preparing a £50million bid for Manchester United winger Jason Sancho.

The attacker has largely underwhelmed since his arrival at Old Trafford and has struggled to become a consistent member of the start team.

Man United had chased his signature for two years after he impressed at Borussia Dortmund as a teenager following his switch from Manchester City.

The North London club are expecting that the Red Devils will be open to letting the Englishman leave this summer, according to the Daily Star.

However, the report does claim that the Old Trafford side will be hoping to get closer to £60m for the player they paid Dortmund £72m for two years ago.

It is also believed that the Bundesliga side are also interested in the winger, but only on loan.

Since making the move to Manchester, Sancho has netted 12 goals and provided six assists in 79 appearances.

If Spurs are unwilling to raise their offer, then Man United could see if they would be tempted to take Sancho as part of a swap deal for Harry Kane.

Kane is a top target for Erik ten Hag this summer as he looks to bolster his striker options.

The Dutch manager held heart-to-heart talks with Sancho and the rest of the squad before they left for their holidays to explain where he can see them fitting in.

Ten Hag believes the club can challenge for the Premier League title next season and win at least one major honour.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are about to start rebuilding the team after a disappointing campaign which saw them go trophyless again and fail to qualify for any European competition.

The club have finally replaced Antonio Conte with Ange Postecoglou as the team's permanent manager and will need to back him in the market.

Spurs have also been linked with the likes of James Maddison from relegated Leicester City and United defender Harry Maguire.
