    United target wants Liverpool transfer

Manchester United contacted the representatives of Fluminense midfielder Andre but were rebuffed due to an agreement with Liverpool.

Fluminense are adamant they do not want to sell him until the January transfer window by which point their season will be concluded.

The latest update is that Liverpool and Andre have agreed personal terms – a fact that Manchester United were embarrassingly told when they contacted the player's agents, according to Emmanuel Luiz via the Redmen TV.

He said: “Manchester United went to Andre’s camp to talk with them about a possible negotiation… What they said was [Andre] had personal terms agreed with Liverpool.

“Andre said I want to go to Liverpool. Liverpool said they will talk to Fluminense after the window closes… done deal. Liverpool wants to close the deal in the first week of September."

    Fulham identify Aleksandar Mitrovic replacement

Fulham are ready to join the battle to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike as Aleksandar Mitrovic edges closer to leaving.

And Ekitike, who has also attracted interest from Everton, West Ham and a host of European clubs, is on the list of stars who could replace the Serb.

Ekitike, 21, spent last season on loan at PSG from Stade Reims and the deal was made permanent earlier in the summer for £24m.

Nonetheless, the Ligue 1 champs are already looking to cash in on the Under-20 international and want between £30m-£34m.

    Arsenal given late Kudus hope

Fabrizio Romano has shared that Arsenal may still make a late bid to sign Ajax’s 23-year-old midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

Romano said: “Let’s see what happens also with Arsenal.

“Because Arsenal in June called for Kudus then they invested big money on Kai Havertz and all the other players they signed this summer including [Jurrien] Timber and Declan Rice.

“So that’s why with Arsenal nothing was going to continue but never say never.

“That’s why Ajax decided to wait and not accept West Ham’s proposals.”

He has since been linked to Al-Ettifaq but boss Gerrard shot down those rumours, labelling a report linking the forward to his club as "fake news".

    Cancelo set for Barcelona move

Manchester City, outcast Joao Cancelo has snubbed interest from Saudi Arabia in favour of joining Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The full-back has found himself tempted by a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.

But they add that he has his heart set on joining up with Xavi and Co at Barcelona.

The Catalan side pushed hard to sign Cancelo in January and their long-term interest and persistence has gone a long way in convincing Cancelo that it is the right move to make.

It's claimed that a deal could be completed by this weekend.

The structure of the transfer is likely to be a loan with a future £25million option to buy, depending on how he performs at Barca.

    Forgotten Arsenal star could leave

There’s a good chance that Albert Sambi Lokonga could still leave Arsenal before the end of the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive CaughtOffside column.

He wrote: “Another deal that has seemingly failed to develop over the summer is one for Albert Sambi Lokonga, who has been linked strongly with Burnley and others.

“I still think there’s a good chance for him to leave Arsenal as he wants to play regularly, but we will have to see about the formula. As for those rumours about Brighton, they have Lokonga on their list as alternative option, but he’s a plan B at the moment because their priority now remains Carlos Baleba from Lille.

“There’s no agreement yet but Brighton are still pushing for Baleba. They submitted a bid worth £20million plus add-ons, and negotiations continue, even if Lille haven’t accepted yet.”

    Chelsea plot Ligue Un swoop

Bradley Barcola and Rayan Cherki have reportedly emerged as transfer targets for Chelsea.

Football London claims that Barcola and Cherki are the names Chelsea have drawn up as alternatives to Michael Olise, who the club missed out on last week when he signed a new contract with Crystal Palace.

Cherki has more experience in the senior side, having made his debut in the 2019-20 season, but it was last season where he really had a breakout.

The 20-year-old played in 34 of Lyon's 38 Ligue 1 encounters, contributing to 10 goals, and he has already played 90 minutes in both of the side's league matches this season.

Barcola has also completed the full match in both of Lyon's games so far, despite damaging defeats to Strasbourg and Montpellier.

It’s suggested that Lo Celso’s entourage have been contacted over a potential move to the Camp Nou.

The problem is that Barcelona are really struggling to move players out of the club and make room for Lo Celso.

Barcelona have been famously up against it financially in recent years and bringing in new players requires military precision.

    Arsenal set sights on Ferguson

Big-spending Arsenal are eyeing up another £100m signing – this time to land Brighton star Evan Ferguson.

The 18-year-old striker is showing himself to be one of most exciting young talents in the Premier League, and has caught the attention of the biggest clubs across Europe.

However, the Gunners will not make a move for the Irishman until next summer, instead using this season to lay the groundwork for a future deal just as they did with Declan Rice.

Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool have all shown interest in the forward, but FootballTransfers believe it is Arsenal that are already in pole position to land their man at a huge price.

Ferguson is currently contracted to Brighton until 2028, and has scored 11 goals in 31 appearances for the Seagulls.

However, the club are continuing to pursue other forwards, and have a number of options shortlisted, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Forest are adamant that they want to keep hold of their young star – and rejected a bid from Brentford earlier in the window – but reports close to the club suggest they would be willing to sell if they receive an attractive enough offer.

Manchester United's Raphael Varane will NOT be joining the Saudi Professional League this summer.

However, Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that the 30-year-old has not had any contact with Saudi clubs, and he has no interest in making such a switch.

Furthermore, United still see Varane as pivotal to their plans with Erik ten Hag hoping to build his defence around the former Real Madrid star.

Done deal: Burnley sign Aaron Ramsey

Burnley have had another busy day in the transfer market, and tonight they have completed the signing of Aaron Ramsey from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old has penned a five-year deal at Turf Moor, becoming Vincent Kompany's 11th signing of the summer.

Ramsey – younger brother of Jacob – had spent 12 years on the books at Villa Park, but made only one senior appearance for the club.

However, the England U20 star has enjoyed a number of fruitful loan spells, including at Middlesbrough at the back end of last season when he scored five times in 11 appearances.

"I’m absolutely buzzing," Ramsey told the Burnley website.

"I have been waiting to be a Burnley player for a while now and I’m really happy it’s all officially done now. I can’t wait to get started."

    Lazio still looking at Lloris

Lazio have reopened talks to sign Tottenham's veteran goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The Serie A side have shown significant interest in the French stopper this summer, but that appeared to have cooled following the start of the season.

However, Sky Sports now believe that Maurizio Sarri is prepared to make a concerted effort to finally lure the 36-year-old to Rome.

Lloris has spent over a decade at Spurs, making 447 appearances for the club, yet lost his first choice place this summer after the signing of Guglielmo Vicario.
