Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo could be rescued from Manchester United by the club where the journey first began.
The Portugal captain is said to have received an offer from Sporting, but they are not willing to pay a transfer fee.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
That’s because Real Madrid are set to land Bellingham using their £70million Casemiro windfall after the midfielder joined United.
According to Marca, the Red Devils have effectively blocked themselves from getting the midfielder.
The England international, also linked with the Blues and the Reds, is a top target for Real.
Los Blancos were already targeting a move for the 19-year-old next summer.
But with an extra £70m in the kitty from Casemiro’s exit, the Spanish champions are now more confident than ever of having enough funds to sign Bellingham ahead of United, Chelsea and Liverpool

Marseille have turned down the opportunity to sign Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has been trying to force an escape from Old Trafford since returning from a prolonged summer break but has been struggling to find a new team.

According to Italian reporter Rudy Galetti, Alli has decided to try his luck in Turkey after a difficult couple of years at Tottenham and the Toffees.

Finally, United will make one final push to sign Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, who is also targeted by Chelsea.
The Red Devils have been chasing De Jong all summer and even agreed a £72million deal with Barca.
However, they have been unsuccessful in their attempts to lure the midfielder with the deal complicated by money still owed to the player.
The Blaugrana are under increasing financial pressure having failed to register summer signing Jules Kounde, and are in need of at least one huge sale to ease their burden.
According to journalist Marcel van der Kraan, the Red Devils will try their luck once more with the Netherlands international again with further funds available if necessary

Manchester United are set to block an exit for captain Harry Maguire after Chelsea made a shock enquiry.
According to The Guardian, the Blues are interested in landing Maguire this summer.

Aubameyang swap deal
Chelsea have submitted an offer for Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and offered Marcos Alonso in exchange.
Barca have been linked with a move for Alonso for much of the summer transfer window after already getting Andreas Christensen off the Blues.
And though the West Londoners previously ended talks to sell the defender to the Catalans, they have now offered up the Spaniard along with £15million for Aubameyang, report The Athletic.
It is believed negotiating personal terms with the centre-forward will not be a problem, with the Gabon international opting to join Chelsea over Manchester United.
But the ex-Arsenal star is happy at the Nou Camp and would like to stay – with boss Xavi also wanting to keep hold of him.
However, the Blaugrana need to sell to ease their financial turmoil and wish to remove his £80,000-a-week salary from their wage bill

Not a Sarr thing
Watford are confident of keeping Ismaila Sarr at the club this summer and intend to reject any further bids for the winger, according to SunSport's Jack Rosser.
Sarr, 24, saw a £25million move to Aston Villa collapse yesterday and now looks set to remain in the Championship.
The Hornets winger was expected to join Steven Gerrard's side after the two clubs agreed a deal over the weekend.
However, complications arose when it came to the payment structure as well as the personal terms on offer. It is thought the winger was seeking wages of up to £90k-a-week.
Discussions had been held between the two clubs which could see young Villa striker Cameron Archer and defender Kortney Hause move to Vicarage Road on loan.
Gerrard has been in conversations with Archer and Villa will make a decision on the 20-year-old's future in the coming days. Hause meanwhile is still set to join Watford.
With Villa the latest in a line of club's failing to land Sarr from Watford, talks over a new deal with the Hornets are being mooted

Case in point
Manchester United’s summer signing Casemiro has arrived at Old Trafford ahead of tonight’s derby against Liverpool.
The midfielder has swapped Real Madrid for United after a £70million deal.
The Brazil international got his first taste of life in Manchester as he was escorted into Old Trafford just hours before kick-off.
The Red Devils’ new anchorman attracted quite a crowd, with people flocking to see him enter the Theatre of Dreams.
It is expected the 30-year-old will be unveiled to home supporters ahead of tonight’s 8pm kick-off.
Visa issues meant the game against Liverpool came too soon for a debut by Casemiro

Pedro Neto latest
Arsenal have identified Wolves star Pedro Neto as a priority ahead of deadline day.
That’s according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, who claims that talks between the Gunners and Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes have been going on for over a month.
However, Wolves are reluctant to sell the 22-year-old ace, and the Gunners’ spending power is limited after a fruitful summer in the transfer market.
Financial Fair Play limitations mean the North Londoners are looking at creative ways to sign the winger.
And this has all the makings of another saga that will run right up to the end of the transfer window on September 1.
Meanwhile, Wolves have set a £50million price tag on the Portugal international

Wesley Fofana alternative
Chelsea are weighing up a shock bid for Brighton ace Adam Webster.
Webster is seen as an alternative to Leicester ace Wesley Fofana, claim the Daily Mail.
The Foxes are holding out for £80million despite Fofana wanting a switch away and being dropped by manager Brendan Rodgers as a result.
The Blues are a long way off matching the price tag Leicester have put on the centre-back after seeing two offers rejected already.
If they don’t lower their demands they are willing to switch their focus on Webster.
The centre-back has impressed at the Amex Stadium playing a key role in their solid defensive set-up and their possession-based system

Foxes’ Nic knack
Leicester are lining up a shock move for Arsenal outcast Nicolas Pepe.
Pepe has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates and will be allowed to leave before the summer transfer window shuts.
Nice have been heavily linked with bringing the winger back to France – three years after he left Lille to join the Gunners in a record £72million deal.
The Ivory Coast international was left out of manager Mikel Arteta’s matchday squad on Saturday that beat Bournemouth 3-0 due to his talks with the French club over a loan deal.
But it has now been reported that the 27-year-old is a shock target for Leicester.
According to Media Foot, the Foxes could look to hijack Nice’s move for Pepe as manager Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his frontline

Ant & Cheque
Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Ajax star Antony and are preparing a new £80million offer this week.
The winger is in favour of a move to United, and didn’t train on Saturday – missing Sunday’s 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam.
And according to Nicolo Schira, the Red Devils have already reached a deal with the Brazil international over personal terms.
The 22-year-old ace has agreed to a five-year contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2027.
United are also preparing a fresh £80million bid to try and tempt Ajax into selling and expect to seal a move this week

Forest continue splurge with Serge
Nottingham Forest are closing in on their 17th signing of the summer with the capture of former Spurs hothead Serge Aurier on a free transfer.
The right-back is currently without a club after his deal with Villarreal expired in June.
The Ivory Coast captain made 110 appearances for Tottenham following his £23m move in 2017, but his time in London was littered with errors and two red cards.
Aurier will provide competition in defence for Neco Williams, who moved to the City Ground from Liverpool earlier in the window.

Caicedo to stay a Seagull
Casemiro is on the verge of joining Manchester United, but one midfielder who won't be moving to Old Trafford is Moises Caicedo.
The young Brighton star has recently been linked with the Red Devils after his dominant display against them on the opening weekend of the season.
However, in-the-know journalist Jonas Hen Shrag has tweeted that the 20-year-old Ecuadorian will not be joining United – this season, at least.
