Salford City F.C. is co-owned by former football players Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, and David Beckham, and Singaporean businessman Peter Lim, who has a majority share in the team.

The former football stars are often referred to as "The Class of 92" as they all got their start as part of Manchester United's academy during the early nineties.

The Class of 92 players first took over Salford F.C. in 2014, with Lim taking a majority share as part of his long-term business partnership with Gary Neville.

The owners have invested millions of pounds into the club since taking it over.

In 2019, David Beckham became a shareholder in Salford City.

At the time, Beckham said of his 10% stake: "It's a proud moment for me to join Peter Lim and the Class of 92 lads as an owner of Salford City.

"My early years in Manchester were spent in Salford – I grew up there in many ways – so to be able to finally join the lads today is a great feeling.

"It is important to emphasise that nothing will change in the day-to-day operations but to have us all together was always the vision."

Which other clubs does David Beckham own?

Beckham is also a co-owner of MLS club Inter Miami.

He co-owns the team with investors Jorge Mas and Jose Mas.

Beckham first became involved with the team back in 2014, going on to help establish the club in 2018.

Football legend Lionel Messi confirmed that he would be joining Inter Miami in June 2023.
