GET your taste buds ready tennis fans as Wimbledon has returned to the big screens – which means there will be strawberries and cream galore.
Millions of spectators, tennis experts and sometimes players indulge in the popular desert during the iconic tournament.
And approximately 10,000 litres of cream and 28,000 kilograms of strawberries are consumed at the All English Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club each year.
But what is the backstory behind this delicious combination and how much will it cost this time round?
Why do they sell strawberries and cream at Wimbledon?
Strawberries and cream has been served at Wimbledon since the very first tournament in 1877 – which only had 200 viewers.
Head of PR for the All England Club Johnny Perkins told CNN that: "Strawberries were in season at the time the tournament was played and in Victorian England, they had become a fashionable thing to eat.

"They were part of an afternoon tea, which had become a fashionable ritual and that took root at Wimbledon."
It has been claimed that English statesman and Catholic bishop Thomas Wolsey served the combination at a banquet in 1509.
And the iconic snack has become a major part of Wimbledon's tradition.
How much will strawberries and cream at Wimbledon cost?
The highest rates of inflation in 40 years has seen an increase in basic shopping bills for many citizens.

However, the Chief Executive Office at the All England Lawn Tennis Club confirmed that the tournament's signature food will REMAIN at £2.50 partly because they are sourced from local farms.
And it has been sold at that price since 2010.
When is Wimbledon 2022?
Wimbledon got underway on Monday, June 27 and will conclude on Sunday, July 10.
The 135th legendary tournament will take up its usual location of the famous All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London.
