William Gallas fears Kai Havertz is 'in trouble' as he singles out £65million transfer who has 'done nothing' | The Sun

KAI HAVERTZ'S Arsenal career is "in trouble" as he has "done nothing" so far at the Emirates.

That is according to the the Gunners' hero William Gallas, who insists Havertz needs to pick up the pace after the international break.

The versatile playmaker joined Mikel Arteta's side from London rivals Chelsea last summer following a £65million deal.

However, the Germany international has struggled to live up to expectations with only one goal and one assist in 12 appearances.

But the 24-year-old created Gabriel Martinelli's winner against Manchester City two weeks ago and Arteta initially tried to use him as a central midfielder to fill in for Granit Xhaka.

Nevertheless, Gallas is not at all convinced and claims Arsenal should have never signed Havertz.

The ex-Chelsea and Tottenham star insists the German needs to adapt immediately.

Gallas told Lord Ping: "I’m not impressed with Kai Havertz so far.

"He’s done nothing since he joined Arsenal. He may have scored, but that was only because Martin Odegaard let him take a penalty!

"Havertz hasn’t done anything yet, and I think he’s in trouble.

"I don’t think Arsenal should have signed Kai Havertz. I think that was a mistake. If you spent £60million on a striker, you expect them to score at least 15 goals in a season! I don’t think that’ll happen

"Arsenal don’t have time! The season may be long, but clubs need results straight away.

"Havertz was at Chelsea for three years and knows the Premier League well.

"It may take a while to settle into a new team, but he already lived in London!

"Players need to adapt immediately – they don’t have time."
