The Spaniard despatched Lorenzo Sonego of Italy in round three on Saturday in straight sets and will be hoping to do the same against his opponent today, who has never reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon before.
Nadal will be hoping to reach his eighth Wimbledon quarter-final at the ripe old age of 36, having knocked out Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina and the Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis in the opening two rounds, both in four sets.
Van de Zandschulp defeated the former semi-finalist at SW19 Richard Gasquet in four sets in the last round, following victories against Emil Ruusuvuori and Feliciano Lopez earlier in the tournament.
Nadal and van de Zandschulp have crossed paths once before, with the Spaniard prevailing in straight sets of round three at the French Open earlier this year.

Kyrgios was the winner of a feisty, action-packed round three match against the number four seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, triumphing 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6.
The Australian is bidding to equal his best ever run at a Grand Slam by beating the American world number 56, who is in the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time.
Prior to the win over Tsitsipas, the Aussie has knocked out the number 26 seed Filip Krajinovic of Serbia, and the British wildcard Paul Jubb, winning in five sets in the first round.
Nakashima, a 20-year-old from San Diego, beat Daniel Elahi Galan in straight sets to book his place in round four, having beaten 13th seed Denis Shapovalov in the second round and German qualifier Nicola Kuhn in the first.
Kyrgios and Nakashima have never played each other before professionally.
