Game, NO SEX, Match. Fed up Wimbledon locals write narky notes warning fans to stop romping and boozing after leaving the tournament – as full crowds return to Grand Slam for the first time in years
- Full crowds have returned to Wimbledon for the first time since before Covid
- Locals are worried the party will spill into the streets including ‘sex parties’
- They are putting signs up encouraging visitors to behave themselves
- With over 300,000 glasses of Pimms to be served at the tournament, fans are going to be well lubricated and in party mode when the tennis finishes
Posh Wimbledon residents are looking to put the brakes on overnight parties following the tennis and have carpeted the region in signs warning against drugs, booze and sex parties.
Fed up locals have been given a three-year reprieve for boozy fans because Covid restrictions have limited crowds. However, in 2022, fans will converge on the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club from across the globe – and residents are worried the sex parties are going to fire up in public spots again.

Signs have been placed around the region that read: ‘Game, Sex, and Match. NO THANKS! Visiting tennis fans please respect our park and woodland.
‘Anti-social behaviour such as drugs, booze and sex parties will not be tolerated. Police patrol this area regularly and you have been warned.
‘Thanks for your consideration. Enjoy the tennis’.

While the behaviour inside the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club is highly regulated, it doesn’t stop tennis fans from hitting the alcoholic beverages heavily.
During the 2018 event, 29,000 bottles of champagne were devoured, while about 320,000 glasses of Pimm’s are expected to go down the hatch over the next the two weeks.
Locals have seen it all before, with well lubricated fans hitting the streets after play has finished and behaving poorly in the streets where they live.
Locals are worried the visitors to Wimbledon will carry out anti-social behaviour on the streets
An anonymous resident told OutKick said the visiting revellers got rowdy and raunchy after dark and previous appeals for them to behave and be respectful had fallen on deaf ears.
‘I’ve seen couples having sex, drugs parties, everything really,’ they said.
‘With so many fans camping in the park it turns into a big party after dark and people just get carried away especially if they’ve been knocking back the Pimm’s all day.
‘We’ve put notices up in the past, but they just get ripped down.
Hopefully, the police will step up their patrols this year and kick out anyone they catch wanting a love match.’
Around 42,000 people are expected to flood through the gates every day over the two-week tournament with around 500,000 expected over the whole event.
