A Place in the Sun: Ben warns guests about 'dangerous' plan
A Place in the Sun presenter Ben Hillman was left concerned for couple Joan and Andrew after they revealed their unique way of choosing their holiday destination.
Kicking off the show, Ben said: “Right then Joan and Andrew, welcome to Costa Calida, how is it to be here?”
Joan admitted: “Amazing, beautiful beach, what more could we ask for?”
Ben went on to ask: “How well do you know this area?” to which Joan confessed: “Well if I was to be perfectly honest, not very well.”
Confused as to how they chose their destination, Ben continued: “So what are we doing here now? How have we ended up here?”

Joan revealed their odd technique: “Well, we sat down at the kitchen table, we put the map of Spain.
“So then I got a pin and went ‘One, two, three, four, five, six, seven’ and plonked it down,” as Andrew added: “There you go.”
Concerned by their choice, Ben clarified: “That’s how you chose this spot? Isn’t that a bit dangerous?”
Trying to make it sound better, Joan revealed: “Well, I knew the name Mazaron, because I have been here once before on a day trip 15 years ago.”

Ben was still sceptical: “That is quite some time,” but didn’t back down from the challenge and took the couple to a number of places.
Joan and Andrew had a budget of £80,000, with wiggle room of £5,000, looking for the perfect holiday home to host their five children and five grandchildren.
When asked what they were looking for in their property, they explained they wanted somewhere which was close to the beach.
As well as that, Joan was adamant that she didn’t want any tiles in the house and wanted to be close to amenities.
Despite looking around the five properties, Joan and Andrew decided not to buy any of the houses due to not being able to find their perfect home on a budget.
