Many would have thought 2019’s Avengers: Endgame was the end of the epic superhero story, but as it turned out, it was just the beginning.
Following the release of that mega-hit film, which went on to be the second highest grossing movie of all time, Disney launched its streaming platform Disney+.
Seven Marvel shows have dropped on the platform in just over a year and there have been six movies, including the recent release of Thor: Love and Thunder.
The runtime of Phase 4 is more than that of the previous three phases combined and Marvel are about to announce a heap more content.
San Diego Comic-Con is here and over the next few days Marvel Studios will be returning to Hall H.
Black Panther 2 first look
Considering this has a release date of November 11, it's incredible there hasn’t been an official unveiling already.
This seem a guaranteed heavy hitter for the showcase, with the film set to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in interesting new ways.
It is already known that Namor will make an appearance played by Tenoch Huerta, with the character essentially being Marvel’s Aquaman.
It is also rumoured that Mutants will show up, building on the X-Men teases seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Ms Marvel.
Werewolf by Night announcement
This is a project that has long been rumoured and is more concrete than it would seem.
According to rumours, this Disney+ Halloween Special has already cast Gael Garcia Bernal as leading character Jack Russell, Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone and the character of Man-Thing.
Stranger Things star confirms his character is gay after heartbreaking scene
It appears to be a one-off special, though as always it will likely be a springboard for all these characters to appear again later down the line, especially with Blade on the horizon.
If this is shown, fans should expect a trailer as it would drop this Halloween.
Deadpool makes a comeback
This one has been a long time coming, as Deadpool 2 was released back in 2018.
The character’s hard R-rated material might not fit into the MCU like it did the Fox X-Men movies, but that is the whole point of the character.
What happened to Anthony Bourdain? Netflix’s Roadrunner explores life of celebrity chef
If Ryan Reynold’s does step out on stage, expect Deadpool to be in the MCU, but around the edges of it.
His fourth-wall breaking antics lend itself to that and it is hard to believe Disney would fully endorse the all-swearing, all-killing merc with a mouth otherwise.
Ant-Man 3 preview
The Ant-Man movies have never really been the selling point of the MCU, but this might change with the third instalment.
Bill Murray has joined the cast in an undisclosed role and Jonathan Majors is returning as Kang, with viewers last seeing him as The One Above All in Loki.
Things are getting confusing now, but basically Kang and The One Above All are the same person from different timelines – multiverse, etc, etc.
Kang has been teased has a future Thanos level villain, except this time he has time travel capabilities himself.
Fantastic 4 update
When Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gave fans what they wanted with John Krasinski’s Mister Fantastic, it only fuelled the fires for some real Fantastic 4 news.
The film was first teased during Marvel’s last hall H presentation in 2019 and things have been quiet since.
No casting announcements have been made, and then Spider-Man: No Way Home filmmaker Jon Watts left the project as director.
Casting, director and maybe even plot could be shown at San Diego Comic-Con, finally bringing Marvel’s first family home.
