Yorkshire Shepherdess and Channel 5 star Amanda Owen recently joined Christine Lampard as she stepped in for Lorraine Kelly on her ITV chatshow. Amanda discussed her split from her ex-husband Clive Owen and discussed all things to do with the series. She admitted that it was tough to find the right balance and didn’t want to glamorise the business she was showcasing.
Describing the show and what it meant to her, Amanda explained: “It is just a catalogue, it is a visual diary of life on the farm, it is ups and downs and everything in between.”
Christine agreed and added: “And sometimes it is tough of course, any life on a farm or farmer will tell you that.”
Amanda continued: “Well it was really important to get that across to sort of make sure that you dumb things down.
“But you also didn’t like sex things up as well, you told a true and accurate representation of what it was like.”

Amanda announced her split from Clive after 22 years in June 2022, but they still work with one another on their 2,000-acre farm.
The pair share their nine children Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clemmie, and Nancy together.
Christine asked whether life had continued as normal on the farm, to which she expressed: “It does. That is reality. It is really tough and it is a really difficult aspect of it to get across.
“But when you do reality it has to be just that. That means it covers the ups and downs and that can be on any level.
“Life carries on on the farm. Obviously, there is a whole raft of things to do – nine children, and a whole heap of animals. We are just working away the same as before.
“Because at the end of the day our priority remains, of course, to keep everything going.
“There you go, that’s how it is. I felt like that needed to be out there so that people… There are new projects going on. There are exciting projects going on.”
Viewers of the show were stunned at how “glamourous” Amanda looked and took to their Twitter pages to discuss.
@JannyManes commented: “How stunning does Amanda Owen look on Lorraine this morning?! So weird to see her out of casual farm clothes.”
Chloe Gilbert replied: “Wow Amanda Owen looks glamourous as ever on ITV! What a difference some brightly coloured clothes make.”
@JohnnyYorkshireTIER said: “Good on Amanda for speaking out about her split from Clive. She looks glowing and really genuinely happy.” (sic)
When they first announced their split, the pair kept quiet and asked the public to give them time to navigate through the difficult situation.
Now Amanda has been happy to discuss the split on TV, not only speaking to Christine but also Channel 4’s Steph McGovern and Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine.
She recently spoke to The Telegraph about continuing to work with Clive on their home farm and admitted that it does have its challenges.
Speaking on whether it works, she said: “Well, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. There’s enough room, believe me
“We both are very committed to the family and the farm. That sounds so cheesy, like some bloody publisher’s statement, but it’s a fact. We speak every day about what’s going on.”
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
