Paul Burrell cries as Amir Khan leaves I’m A Celeb
On Tuesday night, former boxer Amir Khan was booted from the camp after there was a secret ballot taking place.
For the first time in I’m A Celebrity history, the campmates had to decide who they wanted to leave the jungle anonymously.
The next morning hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly strolled into camp to reveal that Amir Khan was the next celebrity to leave the South African jungle.
Speaking to Ant and Dec after his exit, he admitted: “I’m really happy honestly, I had such a great experience here, made new friends, I got to do three trials, got a lot of stars for the team.
“I know the game and I know how to play this time. The last time I came on I was scared of snakes, I was scared of spiders, I handled the snake in the second trial.
“I have overcome these fears that I had, but you know what it is one of the best experiences I have ever had, probably better than Australia.
“This has been a great experience being back on I’m A Celebrity and I think the campmates are going to miss me, it is what it is, I have experienced everything I needed to.
“All my fears are literally overcome, I achieved what I wanted to achieve from it and it’s my time to go now.”
However, since leaving the South African jungle Amir appeared to snub his I’m A Celeb co-stars after he admitted to not knowing who any of them were.

When asked who he bonded with in particular, he explained: “I got on really well with Jordan. We’re a similar age and he loves boxing.
“He knew more about boxing than I do! He was telling me about fights that I didn’t know about, which was a bit embarrassing!
“And someone else was Tuffers [Phil Tufnell]. Lovely guy, cricket man, sportsman. But I just loved his banter. He is a very funny character. I just loved being around him. He’s a little bit childish as well so I really got on with him.
“To be honest with you, I didn’t really know anyone in camp when I entered. I’m really bad. The only people I knew in there was Toff and Carol Vorderman.
“I’m also really bad with names, I always get names wrong but people made that a bit of a joke and had a laugh about it.
“Luckily, they all had their names on the back of their t-shirts so sometimes I’d have a little peek at their backs as I couldn’t remember their names.
“But I had the best excuse ever. I’d say, it’s not because I’m dumb, it’s because I’ve been fighting all my life.”
