Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) recently told her mum, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) that she was raped in Coronation Street.
The character spent the evening with Aaron (James Craven) a few weeks ago, getting drunk and enjoying each other’s company.
However, when Amy said that she was drunk and feeling unwell, she climbed into bed and eventually passed out.
Aaron then got in beside her, kissed her and proceeded to have sex – despite the fact Amy was in no fit state to consent.
The aftermath has been confusing and overwhelming for Amy. Initially, she confronted Aaron and said that he raped her, but Aaron refused to accept Amy’s version of events, asserting that they both wanted to have sex.
This week, as Amy struggled with the weight of everything, she told Summer (Harriet Bibby) the truth and then her mum shortly after.
Coming up, taking matters into her own hands, Tracy starts putting flyers up about Aaron.
When Mary (Patti Clare) finds one on the printer in the flower shop, Abi (Sally Carman) realises the truth and confronts Aaron.
Meanwhile, Tracy calls at the police station and glues herself to the counter, explaining to the desk sergeant that she’s not going anywhere until they take Amy’s rape allegation seriously.
As she realises people know about her ordeal, Amy joins Steve (Simon Gregson) as they head to the station.
When they get there, they find Tracy about to give an interview to Suki, the reporter from the Gazette.
Amy begs her mum not to go ahead, but what will Tracy do?
