Antiques Road Trip: Irita Marriott emotional over picture house
Antiques expert Irita Marriott is joining Bargain Hunt later this month, the BBC show’s bosses have confirmed.
Irita is best known for bringing her expertise to Antiques Road Trip which she joined a couple of years ago.
Confirming her appointment for Bargain Hunt, the show tweeted on Thursday: “We’re delighted to announce a fabulous new addition to the #BBCBargainHunt team! The absolutely amazing @IritaMarriott will be making her first appearance as a #BH expert later this month.
“Welcome to #BH Irita! More details to follow soon folks…” (sic)
The presenter, who specialises in decorative antiques, retweeted the post, which included a photograph of herself grinning with her followers.

Bargain Hunt fans were quick to comment on the announcement, with Simon Hutchins writing: “That is brilliant news, she is really good and interesting on Antiques Road Trip. I’m looking forward to her first show.”
John Cole added: “Marvellous! Loving it. Loving it. Loving it. Hours of fun fun fun to come with the Latvian one!”
Paul Heath said: “Should be good seems like the sort that will fit in well. Good luck.”

Irita began her antiques career in 2013 and used to work as a cataloguer and valuer at an auction house in Derbyshire.
Since that time, she’s risen through the ranks and owns her own shop called Irita Marriott Antiques in Bristol.
While little is known about her upbringing, she shared on her website: “I was born in Latvia, but moved to the UK in my early 20s.”
She added: “I would consider myself as a new generation dealer and am proud to say have customers worldwide.”
Bargain Hunt airs ON weekdays at 12.15pm on BBC One.
