BBC Breakfast: Jon Kay lookalike spotted alongside King Charles
BBC Breakfast fans have been left reeling as they demand the broadcaster showcase “actual news”.
It comes after a string of guests appeared on Wednesday’s show where they spoke to hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay about their upcoming books.
The three-hour-long show featured the latest headlines and tackled topics such as the first official consumption room for illegal drugs, vaping in schools and the cost of living crisis.
However, when main guests Ross Kemp, Dan Snow and Kate Humble gave fans an insight into their upcoming books, it looked as though viewers weren’t happy.
Fuming that the show was turning into a place for stars to promote their books, many demanded more news should be shown.

Taking to Twitter, @arrow_sorel commented: “Seems to be every morning now. People trying to get their book advertised in the run-up to Christmas.”
@BrianPaget added: “Is #BBCBreakfast just hosting celebs with books out for Christmas?”
@ScullyScully73 tweeted: “This another funking book??? @BBCBreakfast turning into Waterstones? #BBCBreakfast”
@yicker asked: “Is it a news channel or adverts for new books.”

During the show, former EastEnders star Ross Kemp spoke about his book Take Nothing For Granted: Tales from an Unexpected Life, where he opens up about his childhood, career, and personal life.
He said: “I think most people, wrap things, don’t we? Always through our lives, we’re very different people throughout our lives not only to ourselves but to other people.
“I thought it was about time as I rapidly approach 60, to take the wrappers off. It was really good for me to look at the different me’s that there have been over the years.
“From growing up in Essex to going to drama school to getting my grant, to getting into drama school, leaving drama school, getting my equity card and then finding my way into making documentaries.”
However, it wasn’t long before Sally pointed out he missed out on a big chunk of his life as he spent a decade as Grant Mitchell in EastEnders.
