WORLD CUP DIARY | England just hours away from first ever Women’s World Cup final against Spain
The Women’s World Cup will see England vs Spain for the chance to take home the trophy, but BBC Breakfast fans were left unamused with the amount of coverage it has received.
Luxmy and Ben often handed over to their Sports correspondent Jane Dougal who was at the stadium in Australia for coverage of how the teams were feeling and the final countdown to the match.
The presenters also spoke with player Lucy Bronze’s family to discuss how she was feeling ahead of the big game.
However, many viewers of BBC Breakfast were left disappointed with the extensive coverage of the World Cup, with one claiming it was getting “out of hand.”
Taking to their Twitter accounts, one user fumed: “Oh f**k off with all this lioness s**t, and comparing them to the men’s 66 squad.

@AbdnAlba added: “The sooner Spain gets this done and dusted the better #bbcbreakfast.”
@weet62 simply asked: “@BBCBreakfast No news this morning?”
However, not all viewers were unimpressed with the coverage of the World Cup as @MisterTeahawk praised: “Lovely to wake up to @BBCBreakfast – perfect Lioness’ to start this morning.” (sic)
Former Lioness Farrah Williams was at the stadium in Australia, with Jane asking if she was nervous for her former team.
She laughed and noted: “I’m not, strangely enough, no I am not. Last Summer I was in the Euro final playing the Germans.
“I had a little bit of nerves but I think this team have shown their maturity levels, they have shown their togetherness throughout the tournament and it is the two teams in my opinion that have been the best.
“I think they are already history makers to get the Euros last Summer, they are leaving a legacy and what they have done is finally put perspective on women’s football.”
BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One.
