BBC BREAKFAST's Carol Kirkwood has been flooded with support after a 'jab' from Naga Munchetty.

The journalist and presenter, 48, brought viewers the latest headlines from across the country.


Naga was in the show's studio in Salford while Charlie Stayt was live from Liverpool ahead of the Eurovision final.

However, she rubbed viewers up the wrong way as they were left stunned by her remarks to BBC Breakfast's beloved weather presenter.

As Carol Kirkwood appeared on the studio screen standing by to bring viewers the latest forecast, Naga couldn't help but make a dig at her.

Turning around, the anchor told Kirkwood: "I'm going to take you to a view over the water, over the River Mersey, this morning, where…"

Gasping, Naga continued: "Oh my good god, Carol who on earth put you in charge of a ship, of a boat?

"Don't they know you?!"

Taking the swipe in her stride, Carol, 60, replied: "Naga I'm literally driving so I can't really talk to you too much."

She then handed control of the ship back to Captain Ricardo before getting on with the forecast.

Angry with the dig, viewers at home took to social media to stand up for Carol.

One said: "I wonder if Carol gets fed up of Naga at every opportunity taking "comical" jabs at her? I know I would."

A second said: "Naga is pathetic – makes it very clear that she's SO jealous of Carol's popularity. Jealousy is a horrible trait."
