BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty told her co-star Carol Kirkwood you'll be "popular soon".
The 47-year-old television personality was insinuating that the meteorologist had not proved to be favoured by the general public in recent weeks.
This was due to the recent Great British heatwave which led to record temperatures across the country.

Speaking about the possibility of showers coming soon Naga swiped: "That's the thing though isn't it Carol, when you finally do get some splodges of rain on your graphic you'll be ever so popular."
Laughing off the presenter's comments, Carol chirped back with: "I'm going to be ever so pleased as well."
Carol went on to explain "If you take into account all the problems that farmers and growers have but I look at my own garden and it's like the Gobi desert, the soil is like sand, it's really powdery and lawn is brown."
"You'll work your magic Carol I know you will," interjected Naga.
Co-host Charlie Stayt had picked up on Naga's use of vocabulary, cheekily asking Carol: "Do you call them splodges Carol?
"Or is there something else like a technical term?"
Remaining impartial, the weather expert replied with: "Splodges or splashes – that's not really technical Charlie, that's just our lingo, that's all."
Meanwhile, Naga sent social media fans wild as she took to her platform with a "beautiful" selfie with Sky Sports presenter Sarah Stirk.
The newsreader had been enjoying a weekend of golf with pals and took to her platform to gush.
Uploading a slew of images, she captioned: "Had a brilliant few days in Sunny Scotland playing with old and new friends. We played well, laughed and came 2nd in the Pro-Am – missed out by 1 shot!
"Thanks to our fabulous Professional – the stupendous @jeeno.atthaya She's a simply amazing golfer! Happy days x."
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One from 6am.
