THE BBC has confirmed the return date for its revival series of Gossip Girl after previously announcing the show had been axed.
However fans of the reboot better not got too excited as it will be the second and final edition following the decision to axe the teen drama.
According to TV schedules, the BBC will drop the final series of Gossip Girl on Tuesday the 11th of April on BBC One at 11:05pm.
The whole series containing the rest of the episodes will also become available at that time on BBC iPlayer.
It will be the final time that fans get to have their fix of the backstabbing antics of the privately educated New York school kids.
The show was commissioned as a joint production by the BBC and HBO Max in the US.

Fans were left gutted when the programme was confirmed to be ending after just two seasons despite a lot of hype surrounding its return.
“We are very grateful to showrunner/executive producer Joshua Safran, and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz for bringing us back to the Upper East Side and all the scandals at Constance Billard,” HBO Max said in a statement earlier this year to confirm the axing.
“Although we are not moving forward with a third season of Gossip Girl, we thank them for the enticing love triangles, calculated backstabbing and impeccable fashion this series brought to a new audience.”
The reboot did not come without controversy with many fans left fuming at one plot during the first season aired in 2021.

Fans were left shocked as they watched raunchy sex scenes featuring a teacher and his student.
Viewers slammed the romance as “f***ing disgusting” and begged the show to stop “romanticising” student-teacher relationships.
During the season, Max (Thomas Doherty) has been trying for a few episodes now to get his teacher Rafa (Jason Gotay) to sleep with him, with them appearing naked in front of each other a few times.
Max found out Rafa would be at a bath house and showed up there to try to make his very naked teacher jealous and did so by stripping down himself and kissing fellow student Aki (Evan Mock).
The original Gossip Girl, which premiered in 2007, proved to be much more successful.
Airing here on ITV2 and in the US on The CW, the show made stars of the likes of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley and Chase Crawford.
It ran for an impressive six seasons, finally signing off in 2012.
