THE BBC has officially started production on a new series of one of its beloved comedies.
The broadcaster has announced that the second season of the hit mockumentary Here We Go was already being shot.
Executive producer Tom Basden, who is known for writing comedy shows for Channel 4 and the BBC, along with starring in shows such as Afterlife and Plebs, created and also acts in the hilarious comedy.
When asked about the return of the series, Tom said: "Here we go again! I'm absolutely delighted to be bringing the Jessop family back to BBC One for another series of everyday adventures and domestic blips."
Here We Go follows the trials and tribulations of the Jessop family, which is documented by the youngest son, Sam, throughout the year.
The family try to navigate life's everyday challenges, from changing careers, keeping the romance alive within a marriage, adopting a healthier lifestyle, kidnapping a dog, destroying a swimming pool and sabotaging a wedding.

The show, which The Independent hailed as the 'comedy everyone should be watching' and a 'comic masterpiece' by The Telegraph, offers an intimate observation and absurd exposé of a modern British family trying their best at life, albeit everyone is annoying each other while trying to do so.
Most of the time, things never go to plan with the Jessops.
However, their unbeatable spirits see them fight through and experience unexpected moments while laughing in the face of disaster.
The stars returning to the show include Jim Howick from Ghosts, Katherine Parkinson, who featured in The IT Crowd and Gavin & Stacey star Alison Steadman alongside Freya Parks, Jude Collie, Mica Ricketts and Tori Allen-Martin from London Kills.

The executive producers for BBC Studios are Tom Jordan and Josh Cole, with Sam Ward as the producer and Gregor Sharp as the Commissioning Editor for the BBC.
Head of Comedy for BBC Studios, Josh, commented on the upcoming season and expressed: "We're thrilled to be underway with a second series of Here We Go, and we can't wait to delve further into the chaotic lives of the Jessops."
The highly anticipated new season will consist of seven 30-minute episodes produced by BBC Studios Comedy Productions that will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
