Beale return twists revealed as Cindy, Ian and Peter are in crisis in EastEnders

The Beale family is set to be rocked by revelation after revelation in upcoming EastEnders scenes, as Peter (Thomas Law), Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Cindy (Michelle Collins) make their highly anticipated returns to our screens.

The first shock comes when Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) learns that Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) has set about selling the chippy.

Following Kathy’s disastrous wedding to Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley), she learnt that evil Jo Cotton (Vicki Michelle) had faked his divorce papers, and was now demanding £50,000 to keep quiet about his bigamy.

In order to raise the cash, Kathy emptied her savings, and decided to sell the family chip shop in order to keep herself afloat.

However, Bobby didn’t get this memo, and is shocked when he sees a ‘for sale’ sign being erected outside.

Unable to get in contact with Kathy, who is living it up on her Greek cruise honeymoon, Bobby decides to call Peter.

On reprising his role, actor Thomas Law told us: ‘It was easier in a way because they wanted to show , a more mature and put together side of Peter this time around.

‘I played Peter for such a long time so I felt like I really knew him but Adam and Michelle made it easy for me to get back into the role too as I had to harness onto the fact that Peter just really loves his mum and dad.

‘That was pretty easy for me to do, because I do love them both. That’s not to say that I wasn’t nervous on the first day on set but all my nerves went away when I started to work with them.’

Elsewhere, Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) drops a bombshell of her own as she reveals to her family that she has her mum’s number.

Dad George (Colin Salmon) is furious that she ignored his wishes and continued her search for Rose Knight, and reveals that he has had the number for years, and Rose clearly just doesn’t want to be found.

If you somehow missed the biggest plot twist of the year so far, then what you won’t know is that Rose Knight is actually Cindy Beale. Having been put into witness protection in 1998, Cindy took on the identity of Rose and started a new family with George.

However, she disappeared from their lives nine years ago, and cut all contact.

With George and Gina (Francesca Henry) fuming at Anna’s actions, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) steps in and explains that it is natural for Anna to want to get in contact with her mum.

After considering her advice, they give their blessing for Anna to reach out. Thrilled, Anna leaves a message for her mum revealing that she is in Walford, and that she misses her every day.

However, her excitement soon turns to bitter disappointment when she is met with radio silence. In retaliation, she sends a scathing text, before heading to No.45 for a heart to heart with Bobby.

What she doesn’t know, is that someone has seen her text, though it isn’t her mum.

Having spotted the text on Cindy’s phone, Peter is confused. He confronts Ian about what he’s seen, and learns that he has two sisters. Before Cindy can find it, Ian deletes the message, and urges Peter not to mention anything to her.

Peter agrees, but leaves Ian shocked when he later reveals that he’s heading back to Walford to meet his sisters, having booked onto the Eurostar that night.

When he arrives, he heads straight to the Queen Vic, where he finds his unsuspecting sisters closing up for the night…

The next day, Bobby finds his brother asleep on the sofa, and is reassured when Peter vows to turn the chippy into a success in order to prevent Kathy from selling.

Unable to keep his curiosity at bay, Peter heads back to the Vic, where things take a turn after Gina drops the bombshell that Bobby is smitten with Anna.

When he wakes the next morning, he is full of regret, and instantly faced with a call from Cindy. It is clear that she senses something is wrong, though Peter manages to cover.

‘He goes back to the Square in quite a hurry as he’s been gifted what he perceives to be the greatest gift – having more family,’ Thomas explained.

‘He’s lost so many of his family over his lifetime so a chance that he can have more sisters is a good enough reason from him to travel back.’

Cindy, however, is determined to get to the bottom of things, and resolves to head back to Walford to collect Peter herself.

What Cindy doesn’t know is that her other family are living on the Square and, terrified that she may bump into husband George, Ian does his best to convince her not to go, insisting that he will get Peter to come back himself.

Will Ian succeed? Will Bobby save the chippy? Will the truth unravel?

We’ll soon find out…

Teasing what’s to come, Thomas added: ‘Peter aims to do quite a lot of selfless acts in order to get his family back, bring them closer together and build bridges but unfortunately everywhere he turns, he’s burning those bridges down.

‘You can expect him to try and make a good happy life around him but whether he’s actually succeeds is a real mystery – does he end up making things worse? You’ll have to wait and see!’
