‘BECKHAM’ documentary series: official trailer
Beckham delves into the highs and lows of iconic footballer David Beckham’s life and Netflix subscribers are keen to know who is behind it.
The four-part series came out in full on Wednesday, October 4, giving an insight into Beckham’s life like never before.
As well as talking in great lengths about his rollercoaster football career, David and his wife Victoria Beckham spoke out on his alleged affair in 2003 with the pair stating the attention from the media was the “hardest period”.
His parents also made an appearance with the series shedding light on his family and upbringing.
And as fans have been binge-watching the show, it has also come to light a famous face was behind the series’ creation.

Who directed the Beckham documentary on Netflix?
Beckham had an award-winning team of crew members to bring the docu-series to life but it was the identity of the show’s director which has stunned fans.
None other than actor Fisher Stevens, who is probably best known for playing Hugo in the HBO family drama Succession, is credited as its director and producer.
In addition to Succession, which ended back in May, Stevens has been in The French Dispatch, Isle of Dogs and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
He even won himself an Oscar as a documentary filmmaker in 2010 for The Cove.

Hardcore Friends fans may also recognise Stevens as Roger, Phoebe’s (played by Lisa Kudrow) therapist boyfriend in The One with the Boobies in 1995.
Viewers will remember how the rest of the gang didn’t exactly take a liking to Roger when he started pointing out their flaws and the dark reasons behind them.
Unsurprisingly, after learning Stevens is behind the docu-series, many fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.
