Beloved BBC Breakfast star missing from show in ANOTHER hosting shake-up | The Sun

A BELOVED BBC Breakfast star was missing from the show today in another hosting shake up.

Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were back on the red sofa in the Salford studio bringing all the latest news and topics.

However, Carol Kirkwood was nowhere to be seen when it came to the weather updates.

Instead, Sarah Keith-Lucas was on hand to bring BBC Breakfast viewers the latest on what temperatures and conditions they could expect over the next 24 hours.

There have been a number of hosting shake ups this month as various members of the team enjoy some well-earned time off.

Earlier this month, Sally, 52, was absent for a week while she jetted off on a girls' trip to celebrate her birthday, while elsewhere, Charlie Stayt missed some of his usual slots alongside Naga Munchetty.

Meanwhile, Carol's fans were not happy with Naga, 48, last week and accused the journalist of being cruel towards the 60-year-old.

On Friday, Carol appeared to have a sore throat and struggled at times with her weather report.

Charlie told the star: "Carol, have you got a cup of tea?"

She replied: "Not yet Charlie but I think I need to go and get one, I'm sounding very scratchy, sorry about that."

He told Carol they would give her some time off air to she could get herself a hot cuppa.

Naga then offered advice, telling the forecaster to get hot honey and lemon for her voice.

As Carol politely thanked them both for their concern and suggestion, Naga couldn't help but take a cheeky swipe.

She turned to her co-star and said: "Although Carol says thank you, she's so polite, we only suggested she go and got one, we didn't offer to get her one."

The dig was noticed by BBC Breakfast viewers at home who took to social media to complain.

One said: "I can never get enough of Naga's passive aggressive bitchiness toward Carol."

A second wrote: "Naga being very cruel to carol this morning again why is she not pulled up on this."

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
