BGT viewers slam ‘irresponsible’ act as man is set on fire

Britain’s Got Talent act sets himself ablaze on stage

Britain’s Got Talent saw judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli in shock at the show’s final act of the night on Sunday. Thomas Vu, from Los Angeles, took to the stage to announce he would be performing a trick with a Rubix Cube. The judges had no idea what was about to unfold in front of them.

Thomas introduced himself to the judges, saying he wanted to show the world how the Rubix Cube could be interesting.

He gave the judges a Rubix cube each to complete while he prepared himself for his daring act.

Simon admitted he found the toy a “little bit boring”, but his opinion was about to be changed.

Thomas emerged covered in a gel, announcing he was going to solve the Rubix Cube “in the most dangerous way possible, lit on fire”.

There was an audible gasp as he said he would not be extinguished until he had finished solving the cube.

He said: “I can only be on fire for so long before I enter the danger zone where I risk being burnt.”

Ant and Dec then warned viewers: “Do not try this at home, ever.”

Amanda shouted: “Oh my god” as the professional stuntman went up in flames, beginning his challenge.

“Mental!” she cried as Thomas walked around the stage on fire.

“This is nuts!” Dec said as Ant observed: “He’s properly burning, look!”

Bruno looked shocked as he exclaimed: “You have got to be kidding me!”

He jumped out of his seat as the flames were extinguished and Amanda let out a long cry.

BGT fans left baffled over ‘c**p’ comedy act[DISCUSSION]

He received a standing ovation and Simon joked Thomas was “hot”, and was the first person to give a resounding ‘yes’.

The rest of the judging panel shared the same view as they were all blown away by his act.

However, viewers were less than impressed with @RedTetian72 saying: “Sorry #BGT that last act was irresponsible…. No no no!”

Delightful dee added: “#BGT that was not a great idea putting the guy on the show setting him #onfire doing #rubikscube as kids will try recreate this by pouring lighter fluid on friends, highly irresponsible @Ofcom hope you take note too as only a #muppet would do this act.” [Sic]

Louise p fumed: “#BGT2023 pre watershed showing man set on fire, not entertaining imo & irresponsible. So many acts cut short yet this was shown, really.” [Sic]

JaneAstra said: “I found the Rubix cube/guy on fire act disturbing – I looked away, it was pointless and horrible to watch. Not funny, not entertaining, a new low for this deteriorating show. #BGT2023”

@JaxxAI concluded: “Don’t get me wrong, people do crazy stuff and it’s their choice and that’s fine by me but maybe that last act should have been well after the 9pm watershed??

“Not sure that kind of playing with fire thing is suitable for young kids who probably stay up to watch BGT. #BGT #BGT2023”
