Call Me Kat: Mayim Bialik stars in Fox trailer
Former The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik has spoken out on her cancelled plans for the future of Call Me Kat after the Fox sitcom was axed after three seasons.
The series’ ending was announced last week and Thursday’s finale, Call Me A Donut Wall, brought the sitcom to a close with a sweet conclusion for Kat and her love interest Max (played by Cheyenne Jackson).
Bialik has since posted a touching tribute to the show’s cast and its fans who have kept up with Kat’s adventures over the years.
“It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday….” the Jeopardy! host said on Twitter.
“We made a lot of people laugh during COVID in ways that at first seemed impossible.
“But with this incredible cast – Cheyenne, Swoosie [Kurtz], Julian [Gant] and Kyla [Pratt] – and, of course, with the late Leslie Jordan, all things that seemed impossible became possible.” (sic)
However, the TV star also realised many fans will be desperate to find out what would have happened to Kat, Max and the rest of the gang after the finale.
Had the series continued, viewers would have seen a happy ending for Randi (Kyla Pratt) and Carter (Julian Gant).
She also paid tribute to the late TV star Jordan, who died from a sudden cardiac arrest in 2022 before the completion of Call Me Kat’s final season.

“Decide the ending you want, but for me, here’s where I think we all end up,” Bialik continued.
“Kat and Max live happily ever after, Randi (Pratt) and Carter (Gant) get married and do the same, and Sheila (Kurtz) is forever in everyone’s life bringing joy and wisdom.
“And Phil (Jordan) lives on forever. Thank you for being a part of our journey.”
In a statement via TV Line, Fox reps said: “We are very proud of Call Me Kat.
“But, unfortunately, the audience response to it was not as strong as we had hoped.
“We are thankful for our partnership with Warner Bros. Television, That’s Wonderful Productions, Sad Clown Productions, BBC Studios, Mayim Bialik, Jim Parsons and the entire cast and crew for their work and dedication to Call Me Kat.”
Meanwhile, Bialik continues to make regular appearances on screens as the new host of Jeopardy!, and made her feature directorial debut with the 2022 film As They Made Us.
Call Me Kat aired on CBS in the USA. The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix.
