Big Brother viewers rage as ‘privileged’ Henry wins £1,000 despite ‘needing it least’

Big Brother fans flocked to social media on Monday night to rage after Henry's victory in the ice cube challenge.

The 25-year-old housemate ended up pocketing £1,000 in cash from the task, having beaten his co-stars in retrieving a key trapped inside a huge ice block. He could only use his hand and mouth as tools, and it took Henry hours to successfully wheedle out the key.

Addressing his win in the Diary Room afterwards, the food writer commented: "I’ve never worked so hard for £1,000 in my life. This is fabulous!" before revealing how he plans to spend the dough.

"I’ve been thinking about this. I’ve gone from the sensible route of paying my rent; the cost of living crisis is affecting everybody equally, rent in Kensington is not cheap and I need anything I can get. And then another route is, depending on how well we’re all getting on as housemates at the end of this, taking everyone to my favourite bar and this will be some money for a tab.

"I’ve also gone down the route of just being stupid with it and spending it on a night at Claridge's. Then I would love a veal chop, cavolo nero, with some mashed potato, pomme puree, with some red wine jus, oh gosh, it could just be endless."

However, this left a sour taste in the mouths of many Big Brother viewers, who argued Henry was the last person that needed the money.

"Henry winning the £1,000 when he’s one of the wealthiest housemates", "not henry being an absolute raging tory explaining what he’d do w his £1000 .. i almost forgot what u was for a sec thnx 4 reminding me [sic]" and "I want a backstory on Henry you would think he didn’t even need the £1000 lol but the way he’s carrying on I thought he was going to donate it to charity or something," read three reactions on X (formerly known as Twitter).

"Sorry Henry, the cost of living crisis is forcing people into food banks. They are not the same people worrying about their rent in one of the richest parts of the country" and "Hearing Henry talk about the cost of living, complaining about rent in Kensington but also his desire for veal with a red wine jus is so…" added another pair of angered watchers.

Meanwhile, before his love triangle with Jordan and Matty came to a brutal end over the weekend, Henry openly discussed his feelings for the former with Trish.

"We’re really good friends Jordan and I, but we have kissed like four or five times," he told her, much to Trish's surprise.

"It was playing with my emotions a bit the last couple of days. I think I want a bit of clarity. I literally haven’t felt this emotion before and it’s just been a bit stressful."

He later admitted in the Diary Room: "There is something strange happening with Jordan and Matty and it’s become a bit of a puzzle in my mind. I guess on a really selfish level, I feel like I’m almost losing Jordan a bit as he’s drifting away. It’s really difficult to explain because I’ve never really felt this before."
