Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) is in for a shock in Coronation Street this coming week as he learns of Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) secret…on their wedding day.
Billy and Paul decided they would get married a few months ago. While it’s definitely been a happy time planning the major event, Billy’s friends and family are all aware of how desperately he wants to get married in a church.
Sadly, Billy and Paul cannot do this due to it not legally being possible for same-sex couples to marry in a Church of England.

Coming up, in the bistro, Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) walk Paul down the aisle where Billy is waiting, his heart full of love.
Billy and Paul exchange vows and the registrar pronounces them married but after the ceremony, Billy is shocked to discover his new husband has been keeping a secret from him.
But what is it?
We know that one of Paul’s secrets is that he wants to choose the moment he dies, and has asked Todd (Gareth Pierce) to help him with the act.
Billy remains unaware of this, but is this the moment he finds out?
Or is Paul keeping another secret?
‘I think the reactions we’ve got have been above and beyond anything I ever imagined’, Peter Ash said, discussing Paul’s MND storyline.
‘It’s been so lovely. We get messages from people who are living with it, people who’ve got family members living with MND and they’re saying how bits of the story really resonate with them.
‘Honestly, if through this storyline we can raise a bit of awareness and a bit of money for the cause then that’s a job well done as far as I’m concerned.’
