Blue Bloods season 14 renewal announcement
This week, Blue Bloods fans were thrilled to see Danny Reagan (played by Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) working on a case together. However, the excitement came to a screeching halt after many discovered the CBS drama would not be returning in its usual slot.
On Friday, Blue Bloods viewers tuned in for another thrilling episode of the generational procedural drama.
The highly respected Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) clashed with his team when detective Abigail Baker (Abigail Hawke) became the focus of an internal investigation.
Elsewhere, his sons Danny and Jamie, who also worked in law enforcement, joined forces to investigate a series of carjackings in the city.
As the episode, titled Smoke and Mirrors, came to an end, viewers noticed the preview for the upcoming episode was missing and soon realised a break was in store for Blue Bloods.
Fans took to social media to rage at the network and complain about the upcoming hiatus.
On Twitter, @karinavergarap wrote: “Tonight’s episode of @BlueBloods_CBS was amazing … Too bad that there would be another hiatus.”
A fuming @1buckeyetom tweeted: “Disappointed to not hear, stay tuned to scenes from our next episode.”
A third viewer added: “Loved tonight’s episode so much. Definitely, going to miss watching new episodes for 2 weeks. Looking forward to watching the last episodes of this season.”
As @mypov86 realised: “No #preview for next week’s #bluebloods. Means no new episode.”
A confused @Jipcrose asked: “Why no new episode next week?!?”
While @wahlberg4evaluv added: “No new #bluebloods next week!! Didn’t hear Tom Selleck say stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.”
Although there will be a scheduling shake-up, Blue Bloods will eventually return on Friday, April 21.

Blue Bloods finale title hints at fan-favourite character return [INSIGHT]
While a reason for the delay has yet to be revealed, most dramas go on hiatus to spark demand for another episode.
With Blue Bloods steadily approaching its season 13 finale, bosses want to ensure they maintain steady ratings.
Thankfully for fans, the season finale won’t mark the end of the series as Blue Bloods was renewed and will eventually return with season 14.
As for episode 18, CBS also remained tight-lipped about the upcoming instalment, as they have yet to release a title or a promo trailer.
However, TVLine tipped a major clue on Monday which confirmed Magnum P. I star Larry Manetti would be making an appearance as a retired cop, Sam Velucci.
This will undoubtedly be an exciting episode for Tom Selleck who previously starred alongside Larry in the 1980s hit drama.
Fans will have to stay tuned to see how Sam will become intertwined with the Reagans and if he will even star alongside Tom.
Blue Bloods season 13 returns to CBS on Friday, April 21 in the USA.
