Shane Lynch shocks team with news that he’s leaving
The stars made their way through the roads of Portugal before they finally came to their destination of the famous Sanctuary of Fatima.
Travelling together, the stars got to learn about one another’s religious beliefs and found out more about themselves and what they believed in.
Boyzone singer Shane Lynch is a born-again Pentecostal Christian, and throughout the series revealed that he didn’t force his belief on others, nor did he want to take part in other religious activities.
On the morning of their last day, as the group sat down before their last trek, Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison revealed she had a message from Shane.
Playing the voice note he had sent, he said: “Party people, top of the morning to you. Listen, guys, I just want to say Sayonara.
“I’ve left this morning and I’m heading on home. This journey has been so incredible, I’ve loved every minute of it and thank you guys for being a part of that.
“I’ve come to the end of my journey and I’m very complete and satisfied with what I’ve done. So, listen, love you all, speak to you soon.”
The group sat in shock, before Vicky quipped: “Sneaky little rascal. Obviously, he feels like he’s got everything he wanted out of this. But I feel like it’s such a shame I didn’t get to say bye!”

Su Pollard became emotional and admitted: “I’m really sad about that, I’m really upset actually. He was a nice mate.”
Speaking about his decision to leave the series, Shane said: “This morning I woke up with quite an understanding, actually, that the journey to this pilgrimage kind of ended at the destination, Fatima and the Square.
“I think tonight’s celebration, the big hurrah, the big gathering of 100,000 people, I don’t feel it’s for me.
“To celebrate Mary on such a high or to celebrate Lucia or to celebrate all these characters is not what we do. We celebrate God. I would just feel like an imposter there, to be honest.”
When talking to Express.co.uk and other press, he added: “On my exit, I had an emotional time, because of these guys and the journey I spent with them.
“I didn’t say goodbye and that was one of those things because, not to put it down to producers, and I also didn’t want to come to that point where I was like ‘look guys I am leaving’.
“I had made my decision and I didn’t need ‘please don’t go’, I didn’t need that I just wanted to exit so I want to apologise to everyone for that because it was a tight bond that we had and I did feel emotional when I left.”
