Brendan Cole has teased that he only stood up for his Strictly Come Dancing partners if he liked them.
The 46-year-old was one of the pro dancers on the BBC ballroom show for many years and got a bit of a reputation for answering back to the judges after they'd dished out their critiques.
Speaking on Celebrity Catchphrase he explained that he liked to stand up for his famous partners after they had worked hard to produce routines for each show.
But he admitted that if he wasn't that keen on his partner, he let the panel have their say.
"When you are on a show like Strictly you work very very hard to perfect this performance and you want the best for your partner," he said.
"If they give her a bit of stick you want to support them and stand up for them. Unless I didn't like them and in that case, go for your life!"
Brendan was on Strictly for 15 series and over the years danced with the likes of Natasha Kaplinsky, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Lisa Snowdon, Kelly Brook and Charlotte Hawkins.
However, in 2018 he was suddenly dropped from the show.
Speaking on Lorraine at the time, he admitted it was a surprise.
"The BBC haven’t renewed my contract. We get contracted year upon year. They made an editorial decision not to have me back on the show.
"I'm a little bit in shock at the moment, it's quite emotional."
"I'm disappointed, it's very hard to talk about," he added.
Brendan has since gone on to appear on other television shows including Pilgrimage: Road To Rome and Dancing On Ice.
