Nothing like your son nearly killing you to make you realise that you need to change, right Caleb Milligan (William Ash)? Recently, the Emmerdale character was rushed to hospital after Nicky (Lewis Cope) returned to the village to get revenge on his dad after his horrific behaviour.
Before Caleb’s plan to destroy Home Farm all fell apart in his hands, he was pressuring Nicky into marrying Gabby (Rosie Bentham) despite the fact that he had also found out his son is gay and in love with a man called Ally (Joshua Horrocks).
Caleb told Nicky that he needed to dump Ally and focus on Gabby, delivering a major warning about what would happen if he didn’t follow his orders.

Because Nicky actually has a backbone, he couldn’t go through with marrying Gabby and letting her live a lie for potentially years and chose to reveal the truth on their wedding day.
A furious Caleb then found his son, brutally attacked him, and left him alone but in upcoming episodes, we discover that Nicky is back in the Dales – only this time he’s living with his dad as he recovers after being pushed from a ravine and left for dead.
With Caleb wishing that he could fix things with Nicky, he gives his son a gift, which sees his defence drop a little bit.
Caleb promises that time will help Nicky heal and grow, but is that what Nicky wants?
While we may see a different side to Nicky now, Lewis Cope recently told us that his character is definitely capable of doing something as extreme as putting someone in hospital again:
‘We haven’t learnt massive amounts about Nicky’s background, a lot of what you’ve learned have been lies, they’ve fabricated this whole situation to try and get revenge’, he said.
‘But I don’t think he’s a massively aggressive person, but I think everyone’s got the capacity, depending on the situation they’re in, to do anything. So given the circumstances, maybe he could do it again.’
‘Maybe he could be influenced by the situations and do these things again, we don’t know yet.’
