Carol McGiffin slams bl**dy rude Phillip Schofield after This Morning feud

Carol McGiffin says Phillip Schofield is ‘so rude’

Recently, there has been speculation that This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have fallen out behind the scenes.

Rumours of a feud first started after the 61-year-old revealed things haven’t been easy for them over the past few weeks along with Holly taking down a tribute to Phillip on her Twitter.

Despite the supposed feud, the duo have continued with their hosting duties over the past week, although many viewers have noticed an awkward tension between them.

With some calling for their on-screen partnership to end following the missing chemistry, former Loose Women star Carol McGiffin spoke about her experience when being interviewed by Phillip.

Speaking to Dan Wooton on his GB News show, the 63-year-old recalled when she was on This Morning to promote her book.

Although Holly wasn’t there when she appeared on the show, she said: “Phillip was there but he wasn’t very nice to be honest.

“He treated me as though it’s like, ‘Oh another Loose Woman with another book’. I kind of get that.

“But, he was so not interested it was a struggle and I was giggling, actually laughing because I couldn’t believe he was being so b****y rude.

“That’s the only experience I’ve had with him but I’ve heard a lot of stories about him being unpleasant to a lot of people, especially to a lot of people who were further down the food chain in TV.”

Phillip first started hosting This Morning back in 2002 and has been alongside Holly ever since she joined in 2009.

With many viewers now slamming the “fake” on-screen relationship, the ITV show suffered a devastating blow by losing viewers in their thousands.

On Wednesday’s This Morning, the show attracted 551,000 viewers, although compared to the week prior, with 647,000 people tuning in, figures dropped by over 100,000.

Touching on the duo’s rumoured fallout, Carol told the GB News host it’s clear they no longer get on and questioned why neither one of them want to leave.

She added: “They’ve been there for so long they can’t possibly need any more money, either of them.

“I mean, give it up. You’ve had your time, make way for somebody else who people actually like.”

Although Carol confessed she doesn’t believe the broadcaster will take action and won’t axe either of them.

The former Loose Women star said: “ITV will do whatever they can to keep him (Phillip) there for some reason. I do not know what that reason is.”

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am
