Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) is facing a lengthy prison stretch in Emmerdale after Alex (Liam Boyle) was knocked down by a car and rushed to hospital.
We know that it wasn’t Charles who hit Alex, but Billy (Jay Kontzle), when he was on the way into town to collect dinner for his family.
Right now, Dawn (Olivia Bromley) is telling Billy to keep the ordeal a secret from everyone, fully aware police involvement would impact their guardianship order for Clemmie and Lucas.
Because Billy and Dawn are yet to cross paths with Charles, they don’t know that he’s being questioned due to the arguments he had with Alex prior to the accident, and the massive dent in his car – which came when Charles angrily confronted him for stealing drugs from the surgery.
During Friday’s (March 31) edition of the ITV soap, Charles was arrested for dangerous driving and was warned that if Alex doesn’t wake up, things are going to get a whole lot worse for him.
In this new video, it’s clear Naomi (Karene Peter) isn’t prepared to view the situation from Charles’ perspective, fully believing her dad hit Alex in a state of rage.
Unable to accept that her boyfriend hadn’t changed his ways after all, Naomi fails to listen to Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) and Ethan (Emile John) and storms out.
Could we see Naomi face the truth now, or will she still maintain that Alex is a good person?
Pondering over the challenging situation with Naomi and Alex, Kevin Mathurin recently gave some solid advice to his character and said:
‘As a parent myself I think sometimes you have to let your children make mistakes and see for themselves. You can guide them; you can support them from afar and probably suggest that maybe he’s not the one.
‘But if they can’t see it then all you’ve got to do is support and be prepared to cuddle – without saying “I told you so” later down the line!’.
