Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) is in trouble with the law in Hollyoaks next week when he’s arrested once again, this time by the show’s very own detective Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown).
The teen, as viewers know, has been struggling in recent months, with his brush with the law over a drugs scandal involving Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence), pressures from school, concern about baby sister Morgan and the death of his biological dad all proving difficult to process.
Viewers have seen him start to take drugs, buying from Taz (Keaton Lansley), much to the horror of Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), who paid the dealer off in a bid to protect his son.
Charlie, however, continues to struggle in upcoming scenes, with Darren arriving home to find him in the company of Shing Lin Leong (Izzie Yip), with the teenagers rumbled.
Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass), meanwhile, tries to help Shing Lin and Charlie by getting Darren out of the house, but Charlie grows paranoid and orders Shing Lin to leave.
Shing Lin refrains from notifying Dillon about what transpired on the evening in question, so when Dillon makes an innocent comment, Charlie comes to believe he’s laughing him and pushes his friend to the ground.
Zoe witnesses the commotion and demands to know what’s going on, but Charlie, Dillon and Shing Lin lie and thus the detective lets them off.
Charlie and Dillon, however, are later caught by DS Zoe picking up some more drugs from Taz, with the former being taken away to police custody.
The following day, Charlie is let off with a caution, for now, but his ordeal is far from over as Taz is on a mission to find out what happened.
Darren, meanwhile, is left feeling guilty over something, but he decides to keep quiet, opening up to Charlie about his own mental health journey, encouraging his son to speak to a professional.
Charlie agrees to do just that, but as they wait for his appointment at the hospital, a slip of the tongue leads to the truth coming out. But what exactly is this truth? Darren was left feeling guilty over something in particular, so could it perhaps have been he who reported Charlie to the police?
If so, how will Charlie react? What’s more, will Charlie’s arrest come back to haunt him? Could he end up in prison again?
